I have had an interest in photography and been a keen amateur photographer and for well over fifty years. At the age of eight, I was given a camera as a gift by my Aunt. The plastic lens was certainly not of high quality but this gift ignited a passion. The image on the right is from my 1st roll of film :-)
In my teens I would use the laundry in my parents home as a temporary darkroom and leave the prints drying overnight in the kitchen. Mum was quite tolerant in that regard.
Later on my Nikon F301 camera became a valued item in capturing images of my wife & family. Those photographs are still treasured and I hope will be enjoyed by future generations. It also accompanied us on any holidays or travels.
In the mid 1990's almost all of my camera gear was stolen in a burglary. As I was starting afresh I replaced it with a Canon EOS 50 SLR & lenses. Early in 2001 I purchased my first digital camera, a 3.3 megapixel Canon G1.
In 2002 I decided to join a Camera Club & I feel sure that participating in the club along with other keen photographers has resulted in improving the quality of my work. Over the past few years I have both entered and won numerous photographic competitions and awards. In 2017 I was awarded my AAPS honours by the Australian Photographic Society.
For the past few years  I've been shooting with Fuji X Series cameras & lenses. I particularly enjoy landscape, nature and closeup photography, but equally like to mix it up a bit & try other genres such as monochrome or creative.
More recently we purchased a camper trailer with a view to travelling around this great country that we are blessed to live in. I have added a link in the navigation bar to the xPlorer Adventures site where I will share photographs as we travel around this land
I do have many other images available for licencing & my Alamy Portfolio can be found HERE
